After the TopSpin 4th Ranking Tournament, the player placements for the season have been set, leading to many advancements for players across categories.
The current ranking system is based on the WTT tournament system, with players obtained a standard number of points based on their final placement in their respective category, as shown in the Points Table below. These finalised points are then counted, and based on the player’s performance in the past 4 ranking tournaments, the best 3 sets of points are used to calculate the overall player ranking.

Across the 2025/2026 season, with this ranking system in place, there were many changes in placement. At the top of the list, Luke Fenech and Matthew Cassar still claim the top places, with Ryan Tabone, who started the season at second place, falling to fifth place. Timothy Chetcuti rose from Gold to Elite across the season, taking eighth place in the category after winning second place, with Nicholas Sciberras climbing to third place in the Elite category after his tournament win.
The 4th Ranking Tournament had similar effects for the Gold category, with the Gold tournament winner, Marcel Buian, rising eight places to settle at the third place in the Gold category. Vincent Ballet, who won the Silver category tournament, rose to the Gold category rank, placing third from last but still having risen to a higher category.
Niki Pace Rota rose to the top of the Silver category, after obtaining second place in the tournament against Vincent Ballet. However, the most significant ranking increases were obtained by Francesca Ferriggi and Zack Borg, who leaped to the sixth and tenth places in the Silver category, after finishing in the 1st and 2nd places in the Bronze category. Miguel Baldachhino, after claiming 3rd place in the Bronze category, rose to take the third to last place in the Silver category.
The Bronze category also has similar changes, with some new players entering the ranks. Gabriel Muscat rose from Bronze B to Bronze A after the 4th Ranking Tournament. Some players also lost ranking points across the season, falling from the Silver to Bronze category.
After each tournament, the in-house ranking points are a way of showing how players progress along the season. A full list of rankings will be uploaded to the Rankings page within the coming weeks, so make sure to check out your final ranking for the season!
