Juniors National Championships: Final Results

Last week, our TopSpin players closed off the Juniors National Championships, with great results over all the categories. It was a tournament which allowed the players to display their talent and skill, and gain their hard-earned titles for the 2025/2026 table tennis season.

Our star athletes played in the various categories, depending on their age range. With Zack Borg and Mireille Bonnet, our TopSpin youngsters, excelling in the Under 11s and Under 13s categories respectively. Zack Borg claimed the Under 11s boys Junior National Champion title for the 2025/2026 season, while Mireille Bonnet showed incredible skill and claimed second place in the Under 13s girls category. Mireille Bonnet continued to show determination in the Under 15s category, placing 2^nd in the girls category as well as in the mixed doubles event with her partner, Timothy Chetcuti.

Luke Fenech claimed titles in various doubles events. Together with Luke Bonello, his boys’ doubles partner from HiTT academy, he placed 1^st in the Under 21s boys doubles and 2^nd in the Under 19s boys doubles events. Luke Fenech also participated in the Under 21s mixed doubles with Julia Spiteri, where they competed against Luke Bonello and Alice Mariani, and placed 2^nd in the category.

Alice Mariani thrived in this tournament, claiming her place as both the Under 19s and Under 21s girls Junior National Champion, for the 2025/2026 season. This came with clear determination and skill, to ensure she reclaims the title from previous seasons. Together with her doubles partner, Luke Bonello, Alice Mariani managed to claim first place in both the Under 19s and Under 21s mixed doubles.

Overall, the Junior National Championships have reflected the potential and skill of our TopSpin athletes. They achieved these results through hard work, practise and determination to rise to greater levels. In the coming months, they will be sure to continue training and improving their games, to be able to reclaim their titles in the next season.
